"Luxurious has never been a word I've used to describe a cabin, at least not until our weekend stay at the recently refurbished Tweed Holiday Parks Tweed Heads.

The park recently underwent a $1.5 million facelift and is just one of seven that the recently rebranded Tweed Holiday Parks has dotted throughout the region. 

Upon arrival at our Harbour Cabin - my three kids were amazed at just how 'fancy' our two bedroom cabin in. With bamboo flooring, a neutral colour scheme throughout, modern appliances and contemporary furniture, the cabin feels like a plush hotel room. 

Alongside the pool is an impressive camp kitchen with plenty of undercover seating as well as a kid's playground, bathrooms and outdoor gym equipment. 

Our deck has a large outdoor table and sun lounger that overlooks the saltwater lagoon and private in-park boat ramp. We watched fishers make the most of the outgoing tide, boaties came back from a day on the water and kayakers head out to watch the sunset.

The next morning we stock up on supplies at the nearby Tweed City Shopping Centre. We make use of the full cooking facilities in our cabin and then take off to the playground and pool.

Once the pool gets crowded the kids test out the lagoon. What I love about our Harbour Cabin is that I can safely see my kids in the lagoon without having to leave the comfort of my sun lounger."
