Keep fit while holidaying on the Tweed!

Is your holiday generally spent lazing on a lounger with endless long lunches and vats of Sauvignon Blanc?  You still can, but there are ways to squeeze in fitness without the traditional gym workout.  To stay fit and healthy while you’re on holiday check out these simple ideas.

1. Walk at least 10000 steps per day
When holiday shopping, park a bit farther away so you’re forced to walk more. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.  And with the many local hikes and walks to explore around the Tweed, youll be knocking up the step count in no time!

2. Make a splash
Swimming is a great activity to keep fit, boost endorphins and tone your muscles.  Be it poolside, creekside or in the ocean.  The crystal clear turquoise waters of the Tweed will have you burning off the calories, and having fun at the same time. With our 7 holiday parks located along the Tweed coastline, there are no excuses!

3. Sweat like a local
Pack a pair of comfy, light trainers, step outside, explore your surroundings and see the local sights. Find lesser-known attractions and discover the countryside through the eyes of a local.   Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, cover-up, and sun cream.

4. Go barefoot on the beach
Bundle up the kids and take a long beach walk.  Sandy toes and salty breezes are not only good for the soul, but are also good for the heart.

5. Copy the kids
We all know children never sit still.  They are always jumping in and out of the pool, having swimming races, playing tennis, running up and down the beach, jumping the waves. This kind of fun is infectious, and a great way to get in a quick and effective workout.

6. Sleep more
Getting a good night’s rest can see you springing out of bed ready to take on the day ahead.  Nine solid hours will give you more energy to exercise, better recovery and, over time, less weight gain and less fluid retention.

7. Drink drink drink – quality H20 that is
Some evidence suggests that increasing water intake can promote weight loss by slightly increasing your metabolism, which can increase the number of calories you burn on a daily basis.

Whatever happens, enjoy yourself on your next stay with us on the Tweed.
