When you think back to your childhood sure there may be one or two toys you remember begging your parents for, but chances are most of your happy memories are centred around fishing by the river, endless days spent with salty hair and sandy toes and fish and chips on the beach at sunset. While a lot may have changed since you were a kid, one thing truly remains the same, it is the simple pleasures, getting back to basics and spending time outside that help create these lasting fond memories.

Tweed Heads

Tweed Holiday Parks Tweed Heads features a large pool that is temperature-controlled year-round and complete with an impressive waterslide. The pool is fully fenced and covered by shade sails for sun protection in the warmer months. The pool, camp kitchen and covered playground are all located in the centre of the park meaning your family can be under your watchful eye while you prepare snacks to refuel for the next activity. The park is situated on a protected bend of the Tweed River that creates a saltwater lagoon by the park’s boat ramp. This is an ideal spot to cast a line, launch a kayak or build a few sandcastles.

Fingal Head

Tweed Holiday Parks Fingal Head is a fantastic park for families seeking a little adventure in their summer holiday. The park feels secluded but is conveniently only a 10-minute drive from the Tweed Heads CBD. Kilometres of white sand are right on your doorstep with direct access to Fingal Head Beach within the park. Fingal Head Beach and Dreamtime Beach to the south are renown surf spots while the headland is ideal for exploring the rockpools, fishing and whale watching. As you walk the bush trails on the headland to the Fingal Head Lighthouse you will spy Cook island, a marine reserve where local companies offer guided snorkelling tours. You’re almost guaranteed to spy a turtle or two. When it’s time to brush the sand off and wind down there is a playground located within the park and large lawn areas perfect for picnics and lawn games.

Kingscliff Beach

If your little one is permanently attached to their scooter, you long for salty sea breezes and you want to be walking distance to the best coffee in town, then Tweed Holiday Parks Kingscliff Beach is the best choice for your family holiday. The park is flanked by a well-maintained boardwalk that provides both direct beach access but also a scenic route to the shops, cafes and the Faulks Park playground to the south. If there is a green thumb amongst your group, the park features worm farm where guests can assist in feeding the worms and turning the soil. There is no shortage of entertainment for your children with lots of scheduled school holiday activities, board games and a tv lounge with DVDs to boot.

Hastings Point

When you think of a classic beach holiday, splashing by the lagoon, building sandcastles and learning to surf may spring to mind; Tweed Holiday Parks Hastings Point has got you covered. Nestled in a bend of the Cudgera Creek the park offers direct walkway access to the creek and several points to launch your SUP or Kayak and take advantage of the bountiful mangrove fishing opportunities. There is a playground located directly across the road from the park, by the creek and a general store with delicious coffee and fish and chips. Several surf schools operate out of Hastings Point and offer single classes or school holiday programs if you are planning to stay a while. Over the Christmas period, Tweed Holiday Parks Hastings Point open camping sites on the Hastings Point Headland. They are unpowered tent sites and basic amenities so you can take the kids right back to basics and show them what camping is really about.
